Arts Connection are looking for an artist/s to run 2 sessions per week (3 hours each) for 8 weeks starting from February 1st 2013, there will then be a small break and another 8 sessions to run in May.
You will be working directly with patients engaged with dialysis, which can take up to 4 hours; there will be between 5 – 7 patients at each session.
The outcomes of the project are for art works to be produced by the patients, which will be exhibited in the hospital corridor and then the patients will take the art work home. Patients have been asked what workshops they would like to take part in and the response was watercolour painting, silk painting and creative writing, so we would expect applications to involve one or all of these and may involve 2 different artists for the separate 8 weeks.
Materials and activities must be appropriate to deal with the medical constraints that the patients are under whilst in treatment at the clinic.
Workshops will take place from February until June 2013.
Deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 18th January
