Literature Wales Job Vacancy, Head of Tŷ Newydd. Salary: £27,000 (plus benefits)

Literature Wales is looking for an experienced arts or venue manager, with a creative and flexible approach, to manage Tŷ Newydd Writers’ Centre in north Wales. Tŷ Newydd is an established residential writers’ centre with over twenty years of experience in delivering quality creative writing experiences to adults, children and young people. Literature Wales is looking to develop Tŷ Newydd over the next five years to create a local centre with international reach and appeal and the Head of Tŷ Newydd will be instrumental in designing and delivering these developments.

Job description

The Head of Tŷ Newydd will be responsible for managing Tŷ Newydd Writers’ Centre in Llanystumdwy, Criccieth and developing new opportunities and partnerships for Literature Wales. The Head of Tŷ Newydd will be responsible for the programme of activities at the writers’ centre and for keeping a commercial overview of Tŷ Newydd’s activities.  These will be aimed at generating revenue and wider income streams whilst maintaining the delivery of Literature Wales’ mission and strategic objectives. Above all, success in the role will be defined by significantly increasing Literature Wales’ commercial income ensuring financial self-sustainability. The Head of Tŷ Newydd will also support and advise the Chief Executive of Literature Wales on a variety of strategic and operational matters within the organisation and is also responsible for managing the Literature Wales staff based at Tŷ Newydd.
