On 20th October ‘Black History Celebration Day’ at the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea.

Drop in art and craft workshops, Ground Floor, Courtyard Garden and Main Hall    11am – 4pm

Historical and contemporary talks and discussions

Constructing the Third Crusade with Proff Edbury

Literacy and Cooperation in Haiti  with Jean-Robert Cadet

Ground Floor, Main Hall or Waterfront workshop

‘One Mankind’ with Nicky Delgado

Information Stalls, Ground Floor, Main Hall. 11am – 4pm

African Partnership Group stalls; global craft, fashion, cultural and heritage activities, to include Wales and Liberia, famous Black achievers, the history of Black police officers in the UK, African food tasters plus youth and community project and Heritage Lottery Stall

Performances, Ground Floor, Main Hall, 1pm until 4pm

  • Traditional Nigerian Dance with Place of Victory
  • The West Glamorgan Youth Theatre
  • Anti Restevek  song ‘Lambi Konen Pou   Tout Timoun with Ysgol Bryntawe
  • Hip hop/R&B dance with African Community Centre’s young people
  • African Drum with the YMCA
  • The West Glamorgan Youth Orchestra
  • Capoeira with Swansea University followed by workshop

  1. This year we are launching the ‘Wales Black History Teachers Forum’. If you would like to join and celebrate Black History by teaching throughout the year our next meeting will be held at the BHM Grand Final event at the Wales Millenium Centre. Sunday 28th October.
